This public house underwent a complete restoration to its former splendor, with Classic Masonry engaged to undertake extensive cleaning and repairs to the facade. The existing paintwork was gently removed, and the substrate thoroughly cleaned to remove all contamination. The most significant aspect of the contract involved providing and installing a number of replacement sandstone Ionic Capital sections that had been removed and subsequently lost as a result of a poor earlier restoration scheme. The workshop team carefully reproduced the capitals to precisely match the original dimensions and detailing, thereby playing a significant role in reinstating the building’s prominence.
